Professional Rivalry - Fleur vs Lexie (V1)

Fleur de Lis was on the way out. It was rare for a model like her to last beyond 21, let alone 31. The few fans she had left were all older mares saying things like "Oh, doesn't she look good for her age!", while everypony else whispered to each other when they saw her pass in the street - "Don't you think she looks tired?"; "You can see the lines around her eyes"; "Her joints are looking a little stiff, don't you think?"... the media spread rumours... her parents said she embarrassed them... it wasn't fair.

And then - who should come along but a young, sprightly, upstart 17-year-old mare who turned heads wherever she went. A mare who thought she was great... a mare whose nickname in her home town even contained the word "sexy"!!!!! It was too much. Fleur de Lis was furious. This was the final insult!!







SPOILERS: They got over it and became BFFs.

Although if it was a ship, it would probably be called Flexie.

For this drawing, I wanted to try something new. As I mentioned in SweetiPod, I've developed a method to smooth my pen lines to create better quality drawings. For this, I not only used that method, but I thickened the lines as well. Previously, it has been obvious which drawings have been larger on the paper by how thick the lines look overall (e.g., smaller, larger.) I also coloured in the lines, but couldn't decide whether I preferred the black-lined version more... so I'm uploading both.
