Nidorina Sketches

Heyo. Just trying out Nidorina, normal and anthro. I've got several potential pictures in mind, but I'll probably just do one when the ideas coalesce.

Nidorina was one of my favourite Pokemon from the moment I saw her FRLG sprite. All the other sprites Nidorina has ever had made her look fierce, but for some reason, when they made that one sprite they were like "Oh yeah, let's break tradition this one time and make her look sassy." It really opened up a whole new perspective for me, and it's really quite astonishing how little you have to change the normal savage depiction of Nidorina to make her look absolutely adorable. And until now, barring one other sketch, I'd never tried drawing her. Anyway, the top two heads were my first attempts, and the full body in lower left was an unprecedented success, IMO. Really pleased with how she came out. The anthro is kind of eh, really. I wanted her to be on the chubby side (ever heard of a short stack?), but without the proper reference she just looked... I dunno, wide. The head totally doesn't match the body, either. I went for one more experimental go at the face, in the middle, but whatever. I just felt like sharing these.
